Job Description

As a Public Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing health programs aimed at improving population health in Durban. You will engage with local communities, analyze health data, and collaborate with government and non-governmental organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach to promote health awareness and disease prevention.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to implement health strategies.
• Assess the impact of social determinants on public health outcomes.
• Provide expert advice to policymakers on public health legislation.
• Facilitate focus groups and community meetings to gather feedback.
• Organize health fairs and screening programs to enhance access to care.
• Prepare educational materials tailored to diverse community needs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health or Health Policy is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in public health administration or management
