Process Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Richards Bay. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical engineering and be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing processes to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee process scale-up and commercialisation activities.
• Work with procurement to source equipment and materials.
• Implement environmental sustainability initiatives in process design.
• Utilize simulation software to model process performance.
• Facilitate workshops and presentations to stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• Master's degree in Process Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in chemical process design

Technical Skills

• CAD Software
• Risk Management

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Certified Process Safety Auditor
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in statistical analysis software: Ability to use software like Minitab for data analysis in process improvement.
• Experience with supply chain integration projects: Hands-on experience in integrating supply chain considerations into process design.
