Job Description

As a Data Center Technician in Durban, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our clients' IT infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for monitoring hardware, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the overall reliability of data center operations. This position demands hands-on experience with server management and storage systems, making it ideal for tech-savvy individuals passionate about technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and support activities within the data center.
  • Manage asset tracking and lifecycle management for hardware.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for tech operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network and hardware failures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Participate in incident response and recovery planning efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assist with end-user support when necessary.

Requirements

Education
  • Technical qualification in IT or Computer Science
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
Experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in data centers
