Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Civil Engineer to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects, from road construction to water management systems, ensuring high standards of design and safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations.
• Implement health and safety standards on all sites.
• Assist in resolving any engineering-related issues that arise during construction.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors throughout project phases.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Advise on sustainability and conservation strategies in project design.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with community needs.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

Education

• BEng in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in civil engineering with proven project leadership

Technical Skills

• Civil 3D
• Structural Analysis Software

Certifications

• Certified Professional Engineer
• Advanced Project Management Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with local building regulations: Understanding of the regulatory environment for civil projects in South Africa.
