Mining Engineer

Job Description

As a Mining Engineer in our Durban operations, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing mining plans that optimize extraction processes. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations and work closely with various teams to enhance operational productivity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys to gather geological and technical data.
• Manage project timelines and resources effectively.
• Assist in the development of risk management plans for mining activities.
• Collaborate with environmental specialists to minimize impact.
• Prepare technical reports for regulatory submissions.
• Optimize resource allocation for equipment and personnel.
• Mentor and develop junior staff in mining engineering practices.
• Review and maintain compliance with operational policies.
• Engage with suppliers and contractors for material procurement.
• Evaluate equipment performance and make recommendations for upgrades.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Professional Engineer registration is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in mining projects and operations
