Job Description

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in our projects, from conception through to completion. Your tasks will involve conducting structural assessments, developing detailed designs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. A deep understanding of materials and construction methods relevant to the South African context is essential. You will also be involved in mentorship about junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis using contemporary software tools.
• Create innovative and practical structural design solutions.
• Engage with regulatory bodies and stakeholders during the approval process.
• Ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate team meetings to track project progress and resolve issues.
• Lead training sessions for new team members on company practices.
• Contribute to the improvement of design standards and methodologies.
• Ensure all engineering practices meet sustainability and environmental guidelines.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Professional certifications in Structural Engineering are an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a structural engineering role
