Traffic Technician

Job Description

As a Traffic Technician, your role will focus on the effective collection of outstanding payments while fostering positive relationships with customers. You will initiate the collection process and manage communications to resolve payment issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the collection of overdue payments through phone calls, emails, and letters.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with debtors to ensure maximum recovery.
• Update and maintain accurate records of debtors' contact information, payment agreements, and actions taken.
• Proactively identify potential risks or disputes, and escalate complex cases to senior collectors.
• Follow legal and regulatory guidelines while dealing with debt collection activities.
• Document all communications with debtors and maintain proper audit trails.
• Meet individual and team collection targets consistently.
• Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional courses in finance, negotiation, or debt collection preferred

Experience

• Experience in negotiation and familiarity with relevant debt collection laws and regulations

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Any South African language: Advantageous
