Mining Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mining Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in geotechnical and mineral processing engineering, with a focus on optimizing mining operations and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design mining layouts and coordinate with engineering teams on implementation.
• Assess environmental impact and lead initiatives for sustainability.
• Develop maintenance schedules for mining equipment.
• Prepare documentation for mining operations and ensure accuracy.
• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to discuss project status and challenges.
• Continuously monitor technological advancements to incorporate in mining practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or Earth Sciences
• Postgraduate studies in relevant fields are an advantage

Experience

• 5-7 years of mining engineering experience is preferred

Certifications

• First Aid and Safety Certification
• Hazmat Certification is a Plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
