Public Health Analyst

Job Description

We're looking for a Public Health Analyst to join our Durban team. The successful candidate will analyze health data to inform policies and programs aimed at improving community health outcomes. You'll work closely with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to gather insights and make recommendations based on data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic reviews of public health research.
• Draft policy briefs on health issues.
• Analyze data using statistical software and tools.
• Engage with community stakeholders to address health concerns.
• Report on public health surveillance data.
• Assist in grant applications for public health research.
• Train and guide junior analysts in data analysis.
• Respond to public inquiries regarding health data.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field
• Advanced degree preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience in public health analysis

Technical Skills

• Qualitative and Quantitative Research
• Database Management

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Knowledge of health economics: Understanding economic principles as they relate to health sector.
