Truckman

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Truckman to join our logistics team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of trucks and ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic regulations.
• Inspect vehicle daily for proper maintenance and upkeep.
• Ensure all cargo is loaded securely and efficiently.
• Plan and route deliveries to optimize travel time and costs.
• Report any traffic accidents or issues immediately to the supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth logistics operations.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience

• Proven experience as a Truckman or in a similar role preferred

Technical Skills

• Vehicle Maintenance
• Logistics Software

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Forklift Operator Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of logistics software: Familiarity with tools like SAP or similar.
• Experience in hazardous materials transportation: Knowledge of handling and transporting hazardous goods.
