Job Description

As an Optical Technician, you'll play a crucial role in assisting optometrists and ophthalmologists with eye examinations, dispensing eyewear, and maintaining the necessary equipment for a smooth operation.

Responsibilities

• Utilize optical dispensing software for efficient service delivery.
• Analyze patient needs to recommend suitable eyewear.
• Coordinate with suppliers for inventory management.
• Optimize workflow in the lab to ensure rapid service delivery.
• Engage in professional development and training opportunities.
• Promote health, safety, and environmental standards in the workplace.
• Conduct quality checks on eyewear dispensed to patients.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss operational improvements.
• Educate patients on lens care and maintenance.
• Uphold a high standard of patient confidentiality.

Requirements

Education

• Additional certifications in Optical Services
• Experience in retail sales or customer service

Experience

• Hands-on experience with optical dispensing, fitting and repairing of eyewear, and eye testing equipment.
