Job Description

As a Freight Coordinator in Durban, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing transportation planning and operations. The successful candidate will ensure that freight movements are executed smoothly and that all logistics are managed efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end process of freight transportation.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team for efficient loading and unloading.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with carriers and suppliers.
• Keep abreast of market trends and changes in logistics.
• Handle exceptions and resolve freight discrepancies in real-time.
• Track the performance of transportation carriers and providers.
• Conduct regular audits of freight activities to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in developing logistics strategies to optimize operations.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets for transportation-related expenses.
• Train and mentor junior logistics staff as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Higher Education in Business Management is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in freight coordination

Certifications
