Bridge and Lock Tenders

Job Description

As a Bridge and Lock Tender, you will be essential in operating and maintaining the bridge on a vessel. You will work closely with the Captain and other crew members to ensure the safe navigation of the ship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all bridge systems are operational before departure.
• Help in maneuvering the vessel during docking and undocking.
• Implement safety measures in compliance with maritime regulations.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions to enhance teamwork.
• Work closely with the engine room for coordinated operations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Further training in ship navigation and safety preferred

Experience

• Previous experience on a similar vessel is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Sonar Systems
• Chart Plotting Software

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Adaptability

Certifications

• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior Experience on Similar Vessels: Experience in operating vessels of similar size and functions.
• Advanced Navigation Certifications: Additional certifications in navigation are preferred.
