Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Certified Midwife to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive and compassionate midwifery care to pregnant women and their families. This role requires excellent clinical skills and a dedication to promoting the well-being of mothers and babies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and plan care for pregnant women.
• Provide support and reassurance during labor and delivery.
• Educate families about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
• Manage complications and emergencies during labor.
• Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare team members for optimal care.
• Promote best practices in maternal health and infant care.
• Implement safe practices to maintain a sterile environment.
• Document medical procedures and patient interactions effectively.

Requirements

Education

• Certified Midwife qualification from a recognized institution
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in a clinical setting

• Pain Management Techniques
• Neonatal Care

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Stress Management

Certifications

• Certified Lactation Consultant
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
