Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing and mitigating environmental impacts while ensuring compliance with regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement environmental monitoring programs.
• Coordinate with external environmental consultants as needed.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential environmental hazards.
• Develop training materials on environmental awareness for employees.
• Report on progress and compliance regarding environmental initiatives.
• Participate in environmental audits and inspections.
• Support the development of strategic environmental plans.
• Strengthen relationships with regulatory bodies and NGOs.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for environmental projects.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders effectively.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering preferred

Experience

• 4-6 years of relevant experience in consulting or private sector
