Job Description

The Newspaper Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a newspaper, managing the editorial team, developing content strategies, and ensuring the quality of the publication.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production of the daily newspaper, ensuring that content meets the highest standards of journalism.
  • Lead the editorial team in setting the news agenda, assigning stories, and coordinating coverage.
  • Review and edit news stories for accuracy, clarity, and style.
  • Collaborate with the advertising department to ensure that news content aligns with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest news and trends in the industry, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and growth.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to improve editorial performance.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
  • Master's degree in Business Administration is advantageous
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in news management or editorial leadership
