Job Description

We are seeking an Urban Development Specialist to drive impactful urban planning initiatives in Durban. The candidate will work closely with governmental and community stakeholders to develop sustainable urban policies and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead urban planning projects from conception through implementation.
• Engage with community stakeholders to ensure alignment with local needs.
• Analyze local and regional development trends and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive urban solutions.
• Evaluate environmental impacts of proposed developments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical assistance and training to local agencies and community groups.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies or related discipline

• 4+ years of experience in community planning or urban development
