Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant who will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The successful candidate will also analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial policies and ensure adherence to them.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and forecasts.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Conduct variance analysis and reporting.
• Provide financial insights and support for strategic decisions.
• Maintain fixed asset register and reconciliations.
• Facilitate financial training for other departments.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Management
• Honors degree or equivalent is preferable

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Oracle Financials
• Financial Reporting Software

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Interpersonal skills

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Professional Tax Practitioner

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Excellent understanding of South African tax regulations: Knowledge of local tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience with financial audits: Proficient in assisting with internal and external audits.
