Veterinarian

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated veterinarian to join our clinic in Durban. You will be responsible for examining animals, diagnosing health issues, and providing treatment. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare and has strong communication skills to connect with pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in pets.
• Perform routine wellness examinations.
• Develop and implement health care plans.
• Provide palliative care and end-of-life support.
• Foster a welcoming environment for pet owners.
• Document patient treatment and maintain logs.
• Participate in client education on pet diets and wellness.
• Assist with administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Postgraduate qualification in veterinary science is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years preferred in general practice

Technical Skills

• Anesthesia Monitoring
• Emergency Response

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Problem-solving

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Ownership and care of pets: Personal experience in pet ownership and training.
• Basic knowledge of veterinary software: Familiarity with practice management software.
