Refuse and Recyclable Material Collector

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Disposal Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will collect, transport, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of waste from residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• Maintain safety by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Record and report on waste collection and disposal activities.
• Assist in the sorting of recyclable materials at the waste management site.
• Provide customer service by addressing client inquiries regarding waste removal.
• Participate in training sessions related to safety and waste management practices.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience

• Experience operating lifting equipment and disposal vehicles is advantageous.

Certifications

• Valid Driver's License
• HAZWOPER certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Local Waste Regulations: Understanding of regulations regarding waste disposal and recycling in South Africa.
• Forklift Certification: Ability to operate a forklift can be beneficial.
