Job Description

As a Heritage Site Guide, you will lead informative and engaging tours at historical sites around Johannesburg. Your role is to educate visitors about the cultural significance, history, and narrative of each site, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed insights about the cultural significance of heritage sites.
• Engage with guests to enhance their understanding of historical contexts.
• Implement visitor engagement strategies during tours.
• Maintain a consistent schedule and manage tour logistics effectively.
• Incorporate multimedia tools to enrich the guiding experience.
• Network with local historians and cultural experts for tour content.
• Assist in the development of marketing materials for tours.
• Evaluate and adapt tours based on visitor feedback.
• Collaborate with other guides to share knowledge and resources.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives related to heritage.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies, Tourism, or related field

Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a tour guide or educator

Certifications

• Tour Guide Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
