Lode Blasting Miner

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lode Blasting Miner to join our expert team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 years of relevant experience and a strong commitment to safety protocols in underground mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assess blasting sites, ensuring all safety measures are in place.
• Set up explosives and oversee their proper handling.
• Collaborate with site engineers to plan and execute blasts.
• Conduct post-blast assessments for safety and effectiveness.
• Report any issues immediately to the management.
• Assist in training new miners on proper blasting techniques.
• Maintain an inventory of blasting materials and equipment.
• Keep abreast of new blasting technologies and safety practices.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Blasting certificate valid in South Africa
• Mining license

Experience

• 5 years of experience preferred in underground mining with a focus on drilling and blasting.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Explosives Knowledge

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Mining Software: Familiarity with software platforms used for tracking blasting operations.
