Environmental Consultant

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Environmental Consultant to join our Pretoria team. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting environmental assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and assisting in the implementation of sustainability initiatives. You will play a critical role in helping our clients navigate complex environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assessments and present findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
• Develop strategies for waste management and remediation of contaminated sites.
• Participate in public engagements and communicate environmental policies effectively.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of implemented sustainability measures.
• Create awareness around environmental issues and promote awareness campaigns.
• Support project teams with environmental expertise during all project development phases.
• Maintain accurate records of project documentation and communications.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or similar field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental consultancy or related roles

• Environmental Management Plans

Certifications

• Certified Environmental Professional
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience with EIA processes: Understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment processes and documentation.
• Background in renewable energy: Knowledge of renewable energy projects and sustainability practices.
