Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology, environmental policy, and data analysis, with a passion for sustainability and conservation practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field studies to gather environmental data and assess project impacts.
• Work under the direction of the Head of Environmental Sciences to align projects with company goals.
• Prepare grant proposals to secure funding for environmental initiatives.
• Support training and development of staff on environmental compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Master's in Environmental Management is an asset

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental science with a focus on policy

Technical Skills

• GIS Software
• Sustainability Reporting

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Beginner

Advantageous

• Knowledge of South African Environmental Laws: Familiarity with local and national environmental legislation.
• Project Management Skills: Experience in managing environmental projects from inception to completion.
