Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chip Drier to join our team. The Chip Drier will be responsible for operating and maintaining chip drying equipment on our production line. This role requires strong technical skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality timber output.

Responsibilities

• Manage the chip drying cycle and adjust settings based on process requirements.
• Work closely with the quality control team to ensure product specifications are met.
• Document any changes made to drying processes and their outcomes.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel during scheduled machinery repairs.
• Oversee loading and unloading operations of raw and finished materials.
• Train junior staff on machine operations and safety protocols.
• Help implement waste reduction strategies in the drying process.
• Ensure that all safety gear is worn and that safety protocols are followed.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance checks and assist technicians as required.
• Keep up-to-date records of equipment performance and maintenance history.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical diploma in a related field (advantageous)

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in the timber industry

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of PLC programming
• Familiarity with drying control systems

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Adaptability

Certifications

• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in the timber industry: Hands-on knowledge of timber processing and quality control.
