Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and have experience in designing mechanical systems and components. You will work on various projects, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from concept through completion.
• Investigate product failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers to procure necessary components.
• Stay updated with industry trends and innovations.
• Assist in training and mentoring engineering staff.
• Prepare reports and presentations on project status and outcomes.
• Participate in safety assessments and compliance checks.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermodynamics

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Leadership

Advantageous

• Certification in Six Sigma: Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
• Experience with robotic systems: Hands-on experience with robotic automation.
