Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Pretoria. This role involves designing, developing, and overseeing construction projects, where you'll apply your expertise in engineering principles and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills and a passion for sustainable engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design efforts and provide technical support throughout project life cycles.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to prepare engineering proposals.
• Evaluate project performance and implement improvements as needed.
• Supervise construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Maintain project documentation and prepare reports for management review.
• Train and mentor junior engineering staff as required.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in civil engineering roles

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Structural Analysis

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Critical Thinking

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
• Construction Management certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Geographical Information Systems (GIS): Experience in using GIS software for spatial analysis and mapping.
• Knowledge of contract management: Familiarity with managing contracts and negotiations with clients.
