Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to manage financial records effectively while contributing to financial strategy discussions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial trends and variances.
• Prepare detailed financial statements and reports.
• Ensure proper accounting practices are adhered to.
• Support financial audits and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with various departments to gather financial information.
• Conduct risk assessments to safeguard financial assets.
• Provide support during financial reviews and performance evaluations.
• Proactively identify and address financial discrepancies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional accounting qualifications (e.g. CA(SA), ACCA) preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis

Technical Skills

• Financial Modelling
• Budget Management

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication

Certifications

• CIMA certification is preferred
• ACCA certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in a similar industry: Background in financial services or similar sectors is advantageous.
• Proficiency in additional languages: Fluency in more than one language can be beneficial.
