Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Sanitary Landfill Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our landfill site in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, manage staff, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the landfill site to ensure effective functioning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate the work of landfill operators and labourers for optimal efficiency.
  • Keep accurate records and generate necessary reports for management.
  • Advise on waste management policies and procedures.
  • Train and mentor landfill staff regarding best practices in waste management.
  • Organize and manage materials and equipment supplies.
  • Monitor landfill capacity and plan for future expansion.
  • Act as a liaison with local authorities and environmental agencies.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science or related field is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervision and management roles within waste management
