Job Description

We are looking for an Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cape Town. As an Underwriter, you will evaluate insurance applications, assess risk factors, and determine appropriate coverage options. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to ensure sound decisions in the underwriting process.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assessments of insurance applications.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with policies.
• Prepare detailed underwriting reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with claims teams to evaluate claims history.
• Participate in training and development sessions for continuous improvement.
• Assist in developing new insurance products based on market demand.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, or related field
• Professional certification (e.g., AAI, CPCU) is preferred

Experience

• 5 years of insurance underwriting experience
