Job Description

We are actively seeking an Air Cargo Agent to manage the secure and efficient transport of cargo via air transportation methods. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. This pivotal role involves liaising with clients, customs officials, and air carriers to ensure seamless shipments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage air cargo shipments from pickup to delivery.
• Keep up to date on changes in air cargo regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and service providers.
• Ensure all cargo is compliant with safety regulations.
• Handle billing and invoicing for air cargo services.
• Provide logistical support for complex shipments.
• Conduct risk assessments for air freight processes.
• Assist with inventory management as required.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in air cargo operations

Technical Skills

• Experience with air cargo documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Customer service orientation

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience with dangerous goods handling: Knowledge of regulations regarding hazardous materials.
