Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Site Reliability Engineer to be part of our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will focus on increasing system reliability and performance while leveraging your skills in DevOps and cloud technologies. You will work closely with software engineers and system architects to streamline processes and improve microservices' infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance system performance and reliability across all applications.
• Design and implement monitoring solutions to track the health and usage of applications.
• Automate systems for deployment, managing workloads, and scaling.
• Conduct incident response and root cause analysis to drive reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to create scalable and efficient cloud architectures.
• Provide input on technical strategy and architecture.
• Participate in regular reviews to ensure best practices are applied.
• Develop documentation related to architecture and operations processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering

Technical Skills

• Terraform

Certifications

• Google Professional DevOps Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Skill in scripting languages: Experience in scripting languages like Bash or Ruby.
