We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will evaluate, analyze, and make decisions on insurance applications to mitigate risks for the company. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential to excel in this role.

Responsibilities

• Assess application data and exposure to risk to issue or deny coverage.
• Evaluate the adequacy of the information submitted regarding potential risks.
• Engage with clients and brokers for additional details as needed.
• Utilize underwriting software and tools to make decisions rapidly and efficiently.
• Prepare reports on underwriting performance and risk analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve product offerings.
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving.
• Handle inquiries and resolve issues regarding underwriting decisions.
• Develop underwriting guidelines and protocols to optimize workflows.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or a related field

• Policy Evaluation

Certifications

• Associate in Underwriting (AU)

Languages

• English: Fluent
