Urban Planner

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to support the growth of Bloemfontein through effective planning and development strategies. You will oversee projects, liaise with community members, and implement initiatives that enhance urban living. Your role will also involve policy advocacy to promote sustainable city development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies for urban development projects.
• Prepare and present reports to stakeholders on urban development initiatives.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to design urban spaces.
• Analyze demographic and environmental data to inform planning decisions.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and planning policies.
• Engage with the community to gather feedback and input on urban plans.
• Coordinate with government agencies for project approval and execution.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of urban planning initiatives on the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in urban planning or related fields

Technical Skills

• Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Urban Design Software

Certifications

• Professional Planner (PrPl)

Languages

• English: Fluent
