Job Description

As a Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for our boarding school students. Your responsibilities will include supervising students, offering academic and personal support, and fostering a positive community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student daily routines including meals and study times.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the boarding house.
• Address behavioural and emotional concerns promptly and sensitively.
• Facilitate communication between students and their families.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the boarding facilities.
• Encourage students to engage in extracurricular and community activities.
• Document incidents and follow up on student progress.
• Assist in crisis situations by applying conflict resolution skills.
• Promote teamwork and respect among students.
• Support students in developing independent living skills.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred (e.g. child psychology, education)

Experience

• 2+ years of experience working with children in a residential setting

• First Aid Certification
