Backend Developer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Backend Developer to work in our Cape Town office. You will be tasked with developing backend components, services, and APIs that help our applications run efficiently. You will collaborate with front-end developers and designers to create a fully-fledged application, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and experience with scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, code, and deploy backend services that meet business requirements.
• Optimize databases for functionality and performance improvements.
• Implement security best practices to ensure data integrity and safety.
• Monitor backend performance and propose enhancements as needed.
• Develop data storage solutions that enhance the performance and scalability of our apps.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with team members in agile development cycles.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in backend development

Technical Skills

• JavaScript
• MongoDB

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
