Tax Consultant

Job Description

As a Tax Consultant with our firm, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on tax efficiency and compliance. Your responsibilities will include preparing tax returns, advising on tax implications of various transactions, and keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-driven and possess excellent communication skills to convey complex tax topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare corporate tax returns and compliance documents.
• Conduct analysis of financial documents to determine tax due.
• Consult with clients to identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Prepare detailed reports summarizing tax strategies for client meetings.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper tax treatment.
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities during audits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of South African taxation changes.
• Develop training materials on tax compliance for clients.
• Assist clients with tax planning and forecasting.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Professional Tax Qualification (e.g., SAIT) preferred

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in tax consultancy or accounting
