Job Description

We are looking for an Insurance Underwriter to evaluate and analyze insurance applications in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will assess risks and determine policy terms that align with our company standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed investigations to evaluate risks and potential claims.
• Prepare and present underwriting reports to management.
• Advise on policy renewals and adjustments based on market analysis.
• Support the claims department by providing insights on policy terms.
• Enhance customer service by ensuring prompt feedback and decision-making.
• Participate in cross-departmental projects to streamline workflows.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, or relevant field
• Postgraduate qualification preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or relevant insurance experience

• Financial Modeling

Certifications

• Advanced Diploma in Insurance
• Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
