Industrial Machinery Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Machinery Mechanic based in Cape Town to maintain and repair marine equipment machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of marine systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of marine machinery and equipment.
• Assist in compiling reports on maintenance work.
• Participate in workshops and training sessions for skill enhancement.
• Keep updated with new technologies and machinery innovations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
• Oversee the safe use of tools and equipment at the site.
• Adhere to environmental standards and sustainability practices.
• Facilitate effective communication within the maintenance team.

Requirements

Education

• Matric/Grade 12
• Mechanical Engineering Diploma will be advantageous

Experience

• Experience with diesel engines, generators, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems is beneficial.

Technical Skills

• Welding and fabrication skills
• Diagnostic software and tools

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Time management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with ship or boat building and repair: Practical knowledge of the boat manufacturing process.
• Familiarity with marine safety regulations: Understanding of safety compliance in a marine setting.
