Job Description

We are in search of a qualified Mental Health Counselor to provide empathetic care and effective strategies for those dealing with emotional distress. Collaborating with our dedicated team, you will contribute to improving clients' mental health outcomes through tailored treatment plans and supportive counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
• Facilitate therapeutic workshops and group sessions.
• Engage in continuous assessment and evaluation of treatment effectiveness.
• Collaborate with external healthcare providers to coordinate care.
• Document and report any significant changes in clients’ mental health status.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients, families, and caregivers.
• Foster a therapeutic environment that encourages client engagement and trust.

Requirements

Education

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in mental health counseling, preferably with diverse populations

• Trauma-Informed Care
• Motivational Interviewing

Soft Skills

• Conflict Resolution
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Registered Counselor with the HPCSA
• Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
