Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Biotech Research Scientist to contribute to our innovative research projects in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry, and a genuine desire to advance scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute research projects within specified timelines.
• Utilize advanced techniques in biochemistry and molecular biology.
• Collaborate with external partners on research initiatives as needed.
• Interpret statistical data and contribute to discussions on research findings.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Support grant writing efforts by providing scientific expertise.
• Participate in troubleshooting experiments that do not go as planned.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology or a related discipline
• Master's degree in Biochemical Science or related field is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical research

Technical Skills

• Cell Culture Techniques

Certifications

• Laboratory Safety Certification

Languages
