Urban Planner

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Urban Planner to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in sustainable urban development and a strong understanding of zoning regulations. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and local authorities to design and implement urban plans that foster community engagement and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive land use plans that reflect current and future community needs.
• Engage in collaborative planning efforts with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure that urban designs enhance the quality of life within urban environments.
• Prepare and submit applications for planning approvals and permits.
• Investigate and resolve planning issues and conflicts that arise during project development.
• Participate in public consultations and planning workshops to advocate for effective urban planning strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
• Master's degree in Urban Planning preferred

• 5+ years of experience in urban planning or related fields
