Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Structural Engineer to join our team in Soweto. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural design and analysis, working on a variety of projects from conception through completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that structures are safe, stable, and economical.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs and analyses for various projects, including residential and commercial buildings.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential structural issues.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Maintain accurate records of project changes and developments.
• Prepare project reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance engineering practices.
• Lead or assist with project management tasks as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Project Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in managing structural projects

Technical Skills

• Revit
• ETABS

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certifications in LEED or similar sustainability programs: Hold certifications that demonstrate a commitment to sustainable building practices.
• Experience with geotechnical engineering: Knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical site investigations.
