Job Description

We are looking for a Nursing Assistant to join our compassionate team in Durban. You will provide essential support to patients under the supervision of nursing staff, helping improve the lives of those in your care. The ideal candidate is empathetic, detail-oriented, and has a passion for healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
• Monitor patients' physical and emotional needs and provide timely assistance.
• Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.
• Assist with mobility and transport of patients within the facility.
• Provide basic life support when necessary and in line with training.
• Keep patient areas tidy and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Engage patients in social and recreational activities.
• Help educate patients and families about care and health resources.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program preferred

Experience

• Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home is an advantage

Certifications

• Basic Life Support Certification

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
• Previous experience in a rehabilitation facility: Experience working with patients in recovery is beneficial.
