Educational, Guidance, and Career Counselor

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Educational, Guidance, and Career Counselor to provide support and counseling services to individuals facing various personal and emotional challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop tailored treatment plans and strategies for their personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual and group counseling sessions focused on personal growth and mental health.
• Collaborate with community organizations to provide comprehensive support to clients.
• Assess and document client progress and modify plans as necessary.
• Provide resources and referrals to clients as needed.
• Implement effective counseling techniques tailored to diverse client backgrounds.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Engage in community outreach to promote mental health awareness.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with local educational institutions.
• Monitor and evaluate counseling programs for effectiveness.
• Participate in staff meetings and case consultations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field
• Master's degree in Counseling or a related field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Counselor

Certifications

• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Counselor

Languages

• Experience in a hospital or clinic setting.: Experience working alongside medical professionals in a health care environment.
