Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Tax Specialist who can navigate the complexities of the South African tax landscape. In this role, you will assist clients in tax compliance, planning and making recommendations for improvements. Previous experience in a consulting or firm environment will be beneficial, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Monitor changes in tax legislation affecting clients.
• Offer tax consultancy services to high-profile clients.
• Draft and review contracts to ensure compliance with tax laws.
• Evaluate tax impacts of business reorganization efforts.
• Prepare and assist with tax compliance policies for companies.
• Respond to and resolve tax disputes with tax authorities.
• Conduct workshops and webinars on tax compliance for clients.
• Evaluate risk and develop mitigation strategies.
• Participate in strategic tax planning meetings with clients.
• Assist in the creation of internal controls related to tax compliance.

Advantageous

• Leadership experience in tax projects: Able to lead teams on taxation-related projects effectively.
• Understanding of VAT and custom duties: Familiarity with managing VAT returns and custom regulations.
