Job Description

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications as per established standards and procedures. This role demands collaboration with pharmacists to ensure the safety, quality, and efficacy of medications provided to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications accurately to ensure patient safety.
  • Supervise the compounding area to uphold standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of compounded medications for compliance.
  • Engage in continuous education regarding latest compounding techniques.
  • Assist pharmacists in patient consultations regarding compounded medications.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to meet compliance standards.
  • Help in developing new compounding protocols.
  • Maintain documentation of compounding processes.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Pharmacy Technology or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with SAPC
Experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in a pharmacy setting
