Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated Medical Records Supervisor to lead our records management team in Cape Town. This role involves overseeing the accuracy and efficiency of medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operations of the medical records department, ensuring team performance meets organizational standards.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching and mentoring as needed.
  • Develop training materials and conduct sessions on medical records management.
  • Ensure the protection of patient information as per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Work with IT to ensure the integration of electronic health records systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain high data integrity.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • Master's degree in a related field is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare management, with a focus on medical records.
