Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will take the lead in mechanical design, analysis, and testing for our exciting projects based in Cape Town. Your expertise in engineering principles will be crucial in guiding projects from concept through to completion, while collaborating with various teams to achieve optimal results.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design reviews and ensure all stakeholder feedback is considered.
• Utilize simulation software to predict and enhance design performance.
• Provide expert guidance on material selection and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with project managers to achieve seamless project execution.
• Prepare bid documents and technical specifications for project proposals.
• Assist in defining project scope and deliverables in the initial planning phase.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns within the department.
• Ensure safety and quality by maintaining strict adherence to ISO standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on design

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Prototyping

Certifications

• Six Sigma Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Expertise in conducting FEA simulations for mechanical components.
