SOC Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a talented SOC Analyst to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our security posture. The role will involve analyzing security events, managing incidents, and implementing security measures to protect our network and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause and impact.
• Enhance security tools and processes to optimize incident handling.
• Create and maintain documentation regarding security incidents and responses.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and external experts when incidents occur.
• Monitor threat landscape and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Assist in conducting internal security audits and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior team members in security best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in cyber threat analysis

Technical Skills

• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
• Malware Analysis

• Team Player

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
